Delia is a a queer femme who grew up in a white american/brown chicano family. Her practice has been instrumental in her digesting and learning to be curious about pain while also holding space for joy. While navigating depression, anxiety and other feelings of uncertainty or inadequacy, she finds comfort and strength in her art.  Delia primarily works in print, but also will paint, make paper and work site-specifically. While she is continuing to develop new ways to use printing, traditional printmaking practices continue to hold a special place in her heart for its history and connection to the resistance and liberation of marginalized peoples. And she hopes that her work offers a space for reflection and exploration. Delia currently balances her art practice with a full time job and makes time to create at the Laney College printmaking shop
